JEFFco Reverse Differential

This unit will be shipped dry.
Oil Capacity is: 2 qt. of 85/140 NEO OIL SYN.

The Bushings are tight in the unit. So spinning in reverse (by hand) will be hard. Once ran, it will break in and soon spin freely.

When shifting from forward to reverse (on the bench), the C.V. Joints need to be held. Next, spin the sprocket, then the lever will go into gear and or reverse.

NOTE: Without holding the C.V. Joints, the units gears may not line up, and slide into gear. Do not force the lever. When the gears line up. The lever will move easily.

When unit is mounted in car, make sure that the clutch fully disengages. To insure smooth operation.

A locking mechanism must be used to ensure that the shift lever does not slide out of gear. There is no detent in the unit.

We recommend using LOCTITE, when installing the mounting bolts. If bolts are too long they will break through the case (Three on each side of the unit). When mounting the unit in the car. Use shims or washers to take up any gaps between the side of the unit and your mounting brackets do not try to close gap by over tightening. This could possibly pull the cases apart.

To Engage the Forward Gears, the correct position of the shift lever is 1/8" away from where it stops moving. (SEE A above).

Too much pressure on the shift lever, can cause excessive wear of internal bushings.
